What You Can Do in Wales
Wales is built for outdoor adventure. We tailor every team-building trip so it fits the group, the goals, and the pace you want.
Here are some examples of what we recommend.
-
Mountain hikes – You can’t beat a good old fashioned hike. Fresh air, plenty of time to chat and the ability to choose between leisurely walks around lakes or full hikes up the mountains.
-
SUP, canoeing, or kayaking – there’s endless choices on lakes, reservoirs and rivers. The Usk offers some great point to point routes or if your looking for something a bit more gentle theres the Brecon to Monmouthshire Canal which suits all abilities.
-
Zip-lining and Quarry Karts – Something for the adventurous, zip lines and quarry carts offer something a bit different! Paired with some good food and relaxing accomodation to go back to in the evening, this can take lots of boxes.
-
E-bike or mountain bike tours Wales has an amazing network of trails for some top cycling routes, with routes varying from mountain climbs to canal paths, it can cater for all abilities and gives you a great adventure for your office outdoor team building day.
-
Mindfulness sessions, yoga and walks For more relaxed trips, you can set your team in a calm, easy-going environment — think gentle walks around a private estate, followed by a yoga session on the terrace, and finishing the day with a feast of local Welsh dishes.
-
Firepit evenings and casual socials – To keep conversation flowing use the great outdoors to help inspire and relax the team.
Where You Can Stay
There’s no shortage of brilliant places to stay in Wales, whether you want something relaxed, something luxurious, or something adventurous.
Some of the most popular choices for our groups that work well for team building in Wales:
-
Country hotels and manor houses. We love the glan usk estate near Brecon. Ideal for a range of activities and a great base for team building days. Further north the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel and Spa gives you breathtaking views in an ideal setting.
-
Forest cabins, glamping pods and eco-lodges for teams who want nature on their doorstep. Great for experiencing the proper outdoors! You’ll be able to create bonding sessions directly in nature with fire gatherings and sunset sessions. Camlad Valley pods is one of our favourites for small groups.
-
Adventure lodges and converted barns. It’s a great option for groups who prefer to stay together in one shared space — perfect for smaller teams who want to keep things close-knit during their trip.
We match each group with accommodation that suits the style of trip — whether that’s team bonding around a firepit or something more high-end and catered.

The Scenery
The scenery in Wales really is something special.
The Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) offer gentle hills, open moorland and hidden waterfalls — perfect for a range of activities.
Snowdonia (Eryri) rugged peaks, blue lakes and huge dramatic views. It’s brilliant for teams who enjoy a bit of a challenge or want that “wow” moment when they reach the top.
Wales’ National Parks
Wales has two national parks that are ideal for team-building retreats:
-
Brecon Beacons – great for balanced itineraries with adventure and downtime
-
Snowdonia – perfect for more challenging, leadership-style experiences. Snowdonia Hikes are one of our favourites!
Each has its own feel, so we help match your group with the right environment. We pride ourselves in being an office outdoor team building company that can be flexible with your needs and not fixed to one location.
Getting to Wales
Wales might feel wild, but it’s actually very accessible:
-
London → Abergavenny (or we can pick the team up in Newport for no train changes) or London → Bangor in roughly 3 to 3.5 hours by train
-
Easy road connections via the M4 and A470
-
Private minibuses or group transfers can be arranged for door-to-door travel
This makes office outdoor team building in Wales ideal for London, Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham and South West-based companies who want an escape without long travel times.
A Few Ideas
Here are a few ideas for your office team-building break in Wales. We love making the most of the outdoors to create unforgettable days out in the Brecon Beacons, Snowdonia and beyond.
Point-to-Point Adventure – Using the Brecon to Monmouthshire canal network, start with a hike through the Brecon Beacons (insert updated National Park name here), jump on a bike and cruise down the valley, then hop into a canoe for a relaxed paddle towards your finish at a countryside pub.
E-Bike Rides – Electric bikes are becoming more and more popular, and they always get big smiles from the whole team. They’re suited to a wide range of abilities, keeping everyone together. Cruise to a lunch stop halfway along the route before heading back to your accommodation to put your feet up and enjoy a few drinks.
Team Relay – If you’re after something that suits all tastes, try one of our alternative triathlons. Each team member takes on a different activity: set off on a bike ride around a marked course, hand over to your teammate to solve a VR challenge, and finish with your final team member (with help from the others!) navigating the team towards the finish line.
